Zeke Cruse

Zeke Cruse
My mother’s sister’s husband has a cryptic paragraph in his letter to my sister about a Zeke Curse. Since there are no family members that I know of named Curse, I am going to assume until further notice that he is Zeke Cruse.

“Zeke Curse, according to family stories, was a hobo. He hopped freight trains and traveled around the country, living in hobo camps. He would drop in and visit the family for a few days and then be gone again. During his older years he settled down and spent a lot of time searching woods areas in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio for ginseng.”

This nomadic existence even with a family base, is indicative to my mind of some sort of inability to get along with people. It perhaps may be evidence of the bi-polar disorder which showed up in my mother and sister. Of course, it could be a lot of other things as well.
